Guest passes and check-in

Every lounge has a guest rule, and most enforce it depending on who's working. Parlor puts the allowance on the membership, so your bartender isn't the one deciding whether to say something.

A normal Friday, start to finish

Guests turn into members, but only if you know which guest keeps showing up and who keeps bringing them.

  1. A member walks in with two guests

    The host looks them up by name. The house includes one guest per visit.

  2. The second guest uses a pass

    The member has passes on their account, so one gets used, and your host doesn't have to say a word.

  3. Everyone's checked in

    The guests are tied to the member who brought them, and staff can see who's in tonight.

  4. A few visits later

    You'll know the name, because it's on the pass every time. Invite them to join, and you know which member to thank.

What Parlor handles at the door

  • Included guests per visit

    The house sets how many guests a member can bring each visit. Past that, extra guests use a pass.

  • Guests added ahead of time

    Members add a guest's name and visit date from their portal, so there's no clipboard at the door.

  • A quick lookup

    Name or member number, at the door or the bar, with the member's host notes right there.

  • Host notes that stay put

    The usual pour, the anniversary, the corner chair. They follow the member, not the shift.

Questions about guests and check-in

Can different membership tiers get different guest allowances?

Not yet. Today the room sets one included-guest number per visit for everyone, and extra guests use passes. Separate allowances per tier are on the build list.

What happens when a member brings more guests than the house includes?

Each guest past the included number uses a guest pass from the member's account, and the member can see their balance in their portal. Whether you sell extra passes, and for how much, is up to you.

How do staff check someone in?

They look the member up by name or member number at the door or the bar, and the member's details and host notes come up together.

Do guests need to download anything?

No. The member adds them from their portal, and the guest just walks in with them.

What do other lounges do for guests?

59% of the 39 lounges in our pricing guide mention guest privileges on their membership page. A few charge a small per-visit fee instead of including guests at all.
